Weather and The Sky

Welcome to the chapter on Weather and The Sky for Class 1. In this chapter, you will learn about different types of weather, what we see in the sky, and how weather changes every day. By the end of this chapter, you will be able to talk about the weather and name things you see in the sky!

Introduction

The weather tells us what the air outside is like. Sometimes it is sunny, sometimes it rains, and sometimes it is cold or hot. We can also see many things in the sky like the sun, moon, stars, and clouds.

Types of Weather

  • Sunny: The sun is shining and it is bright outside.
  • Cloudy: The sky is full of clouds and the sun is hidden.
  • Rainy: Water falls from the clouds as rain.
  • Windy: The air moves fast and we feel the wind.
  • Cold: We wear warm clothes because the weather is chilly.
  • Hot: We feel warm and may sweat. We wear light clothes.

What Do We See in the Sky?

  • Sun: Gives us light and heat during the day.
  • Moon: Shines at night.
  • Stars: Twinkle in the night sky.
  • Clouds: White or grey shapes that float in the sky.
  • Rainbow: Sometimes appears after rain and has many colors.
  • Birds and airplanes: Fly in the sky.

How Does Weather Change?

  • Weather can change every day.
  • Sometimes it is sunny in the morning and rainy in the afternoon.
  • We wear different clothes for different weather.
