Introduction
Money is what we use to buy things. We use coins and notes to pay for things we want, like toys, books, or food.
Coins and Notes
- Coins: Small, round pieces of metal. Common coins are ₹1, ₹2, ₹5, and ₹10.
- Notes: Paper money. Common notes are ₹10, ₹20, ₹50, ₹100, and more.
Recognizing Money
Each coin and note has a number on it. This number tells us how much it is worth.
- A ₹2 coin is worth two rupees.
- A ₹10 note is worth ten rupees.
Using Money
We use money to buy things. When you buy something, you give money to the shopkeeper.
Example: If a chocolate costs ₹5, you can give a ₹5 coin or five ₹1 coins.
Counting Money
You can add coins and notes to make a bigger amount.
- ₹2 + ₹2 = ₹4
- ₹5 + ₹5 = ₹10
- ₹2 + ₹5 = ₹7
