What is the Earth?

  • Earth is called the "Blue Planet" because of its water.

What is the Universe?

  • The universe is everything—planets, stars, sun, moon, and space.
  • It is very big and has millions of stars and planets.

The Solar System

  • The solar system has the sun and eight planets.
  • The planets are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
  • The sun is a big ball of fire and gives us light and heat.
  • The moon goes around the Earth.

Stars and Other Objects

  • Stars twinkle in the night sky.
  • Some stars form patterns called constellations.
  • Comets and asteroids also move in space.
