Introduction
Plants are living things. They grow in soil and need air, water, and sunlight to live. Plants are found everywhere—gardens, parks, forests, and even inside our homes.
Types of Plants
- Trees: Big and strong plants with thick stems. Example: Mango tree, neem tree.
- Shrubs: Small and bushy plants. Example: Rose, hibiscus.
- Herbs: Small, soft plants. Example: Mint, coriander.
- Climbers: Plants that need support to grow upwards. Example: Money plant, pea plant.
- Creepers: Plants that grow along the ground. Example: Pumpkin, watermelon.
Parts of a Plant
- Root: Holds the plant in the soil and takes in water and nutrients.
- Stem: Supports the plant and carries water and food to all parts.
- Leaves: Make food for the plant using sunlight (photosynthesis).
- Flower: The colorful part that makes seeds.
- Fruit: Grows from flowers and has seeds inside.
